Ink Journey

Ink Journey

A Cultural Calligraphy Journey

Looking for a meaningful Chinese calligraphy trip to Beijing?
Linmo Studio’s Ink Journey is more than a workshop — it’s a cultural exchange. Start in Poland, then travel to China to explore calligraphy, connect with local artists, and let ink be your guide.

About the Class

LINMO began with a simple wish — to be more than a studio. I want it to be a bridge: between cultures, generations, and the quiet beauty of ink and those who seek it.

This vision grew clearer during a deeply personal trip I took this past spring. I visited Beijing with my Polish partner and his family. It was their first time in China — and through their eyes, I saw anew the rich cultural layers of the city I know so well.

Along the way, I met many artists in calligraphy studios, Chinese painting houses, and seal carving workshops. These artists often spoke of curious travelers from all over Europe. People who came not just to see, but to understand — to participate. Many were eager to try traditional arts, even without knowing the language, yet were drawn by the universal human desire to create, connect, and slow down. Their openness, respect, and curiosity left a deep impression on me.

In return, the artists welcomed them not just as guests, but as fellow seekers — eager to share not only technique, but the philosophy and rhythm behind each brushstroke. I felt so touched by such a quiet exchange.

To me, Beijing is a cultural sanctuary, rich in both tradition and transformation. Every time I return, I’m struck by how this ancient art continues to evolve and inspire. That’s the spirit we hope to share at LINMO — where culture flows both ways, and each encounter leaves a mark.

That’s why we created this program.

At LINMO, we believe that sharing culture is more than showing — it’s opening a space to feel and create. We’ve partnered with respected calligraphers and art spaces in Beijing to give you that opportunity.

If you’re new, you might want to begin with our Quick Dive workshop before heading to Beijing.

Whether you’re preparing for your first trip to China or returning with fond memories, this journey invites you behind the scenes — to see the brush move, and to move with it.

About the Instructor

Chinese calligraphy workshops for beginners are my speciality, and as your instructor, I’ll guide you on this artistic journey.

I am Yating — a creative producer who has lived in Poland for six years. I began learning Chinese calligraphy in the style of regular script when I was 7 years old, and those strict early lessons remain my most profound artistic influence.

Two years ago, when a friend asked about Chinese calligraphy and how to hold the brush, the idea for these workshops first took root. Now I’m happy to share this art with you.

Whether you seek a creative discipline, a mindful pause, or simply a new way to connect with this cultural experience, I’ll be beside you for every stroke.
