About Linmo
Finding in the Act of Making
At Linmo, we start from the brush, then gently open the door to other forms of Chinese art: Song Dynasty – inspired tea art workshop, Dunhuang Mineral painting, and more.
We share these traditions with people from all backgrounds. Bring curiosity and a steady hand; we will guide you through brush, tea whisk, and different natural painting styles. So you can discover a calming, creative way to connect with Chinese culture.
We link East and West – connecting people through lived experiences, not just theory. No language background is required. Just come as you are, and let culture unfold through practice, taste, and touch.
Our Workshops
Link & Move
CHINESE CALLIGRAPHY
An introduction to Chinese calligraphy as a hands-on cultural practice.
Through guided sessions, you’ll learn how brush, ink, and paper work together, explore basic structure and rhythm, and experience writing as a calm, focused practice.
Sessions vary in length and format, and are suitable for beginners. No prior experience or Chinese language knowledge is required.
Participants can choose between a short-term Quick Dive or a longer weekly practice programme.
CHINESE TEA WHISKING
An introduction to Dian Cha, a traditional Chinese tea practice that flourished during the Song Dynasty, where tea was prepared as both ritual and art.
In this hands-on experience, powdered tea is whisked into a fine foam and used
as a surface for simple designs, bringing together tea preparation, visual
expression, and attentive movement.
Sessions vary in length and format, and are suitable for beginners.
CHINESE MINERAL PIGMENT
Inspired by the mineral-pigment traditions of Dunhuang art, this experience explores an ancient painting practice rooted in material, colour, and time.
Working with natural mineral pigments, participants build colour through slow, layered processes, creating surfaces with depth and subtle luminosity.
Through guided practice, history and technique unfold naturally through making, leading to a personal finished work.
